Going Green in Santa Fe, how does one measure green homes and the level of: sustainability, water efficiency, utility efficiency, indoor environmental quality, innovation and design?

LEED / Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. Based on 69 points in six areas: sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy use, atmosphere quality, materials and resources, innovation and design. Higher points mean greater efficiency and sustainability.

SBIC Council, Sustainable Buildings Industry Council, Green Guidelines

The Santa Fe Green Building Code applies to new single family homes. All homes will be certified using HERS / Home Energy Rating Standards. The code covers: site planning, energy efficiency, homeowner education, global impact. Lower points mean greater efficiency and sustainability.
